So the gluten free, grain free chicken tenders are a hit! I knew they would be. And maybe you have been eagerly waiting the recipe for the Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce. Well, today’s your lucky day. This dipping sauce is simple to put together with ingredients I always have on hand anyway. You probably do too. I have adapted the recipe from The Healthy Gluten Free Life by Tammy Credicott. Fall Fruit Sauce

I made Savory Squash Soup yesterday and it was delish. If you have not tried it yet, by all means….go, print out the recipe. You will love the soup even if you are not a big squash person. And as always, when I cooked the squash for the soup I had leftovers. I actually plan it that way. I buy a bigger squash so that I will have leftover squash. I was going to make Not Your Mama’s Chocolate Shake, but I didn’t have ripe bananas. Don’t you hate it when you want to make something, only to find out … Continue reading

“Cheese” Like Dip/Sauce

I do not miss dairy products. Oh, I did at first, but after four years of dairy free living, I do not miss it one bit. That is saying a lot from someone who used to consume milk, cheese and/or yogurt multiple times a day! That being said, I did try and make a cheese-like sauce. Not because I was craving cheese or a similar substitute, but rather I wanted something other than hummus to dip raw vegetables in. This recipe is one I found several years ago and never got around to trying until now. My version came out … Continue reading

Rhubarb Sauce – Refined Sugar Free

Rhubarb! You either love it or hate! At least that’s what I’m guessing. I’m of the love it group! Did you know it is actually a vegetable? I think people do not realize that because it is used in desserts, jams and sauces—typically applications for fruit. Now it’s hard to come by where I live and beggars can’t be choosers, so I had to settle for the green variety even though the red is so much prettier. They taste the same though. Often found in crisps and pies, I love rhubarb as a sauce…like applesauce. Unfortunately, rhubarb needs a lot … Continue reading

Russian Dressing – Refined Sugar Free, Soy Free

Today’s recipe comes courtesy of one of my readers.  She saw my Russian Cranberry Chicken post where I stated making my own Russian Dressing was on my to-do list.  Well, no more.  Thanks to her, she sent me a copy of her Russian Dressing recipe that is soy free and refined sugar free as well as free of all the other stuff I stay clear from.   There is ketchup in the recipe so in order to make this corn free, sugar free and soy free (as well as milk and gluten free) you have to purchase the good ketchup.  … Continue reading

Sugar Free and Unrefined Sugar Cranberry Sauce

Oh how I love cranberry sauce; especially around the holidays!  But since I kicked refined sugars out the door I had to come up with a sugar free or unrefined sugar way to cook it.     The first time I cooked it completely sugar free was with xylitol, a natural occurring sugar alcohol which has a low glycemic index because it is slowly digested.  Xylitol does not promote tooth decay and is fine to consume if you deal with candida overgrowth.  Although we loved it made completely with xylitol (it tasted like the “real” thing), I know that xylitol is … Continue reading

An Allergy Friendly Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving is coming soon.  It doesn’t have to be a scary time if you have food allergies. You can still have a great meal. Here are some ideas to go with your turkey or ham to dress your table and nourish your soul. Instead of the traditional green bean casserole, try this recipe for Apricot Glazed Green Beans.   You can make mashed potatoes with hemp milk to get the oft desired creamy side dish.  Or you could make this Mashed Potato Bake.   For a great gluten free and allergy friendly biscuit you could make Mashed Potato Biscuits, or … Continue reading

Raw Applesauce

I am fascinated with the story of Jordan Rubin.  He is a book author, and the founder of Garden of Life; a whole line of vitamins, supplements, protein shakes, and so much more.  In fact, he is raising grass fed beef now too.  I do not use any of his products or beef, but I follow his company and story with interest.   His story is nothing short of miraculous.  He basically cured himself of a terrible case of Chrons disease that had him on death’s door. Anyway, there is a little shop I frequent that was handing out free copies … Continue reading

Full Flavor Foods, LLC – Gluten and Casein Free Gravy Mix – Product Review

Are you looking for a gluten free powdered gravy mix?  How about one without milk? I found this (gluten and casein free) gravy mix at my local grocery.  You can find it on Amazon here.   I am putting this out here as a resource for you as I know how difficult it is to find milk free or gluten free (or both) mixes. The company that makes this is Full Flavor Foods…it’s hard to tell from the packaging.  They make Beef, Chicken, Pork, and Turkey flavors.  They are all soy free too, with the exception of the beef flavor.  … Continue reading
