Grain Free Sandwich Bread

Hello!  It’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything.  I’ve been making a lot of the same things over and over and well, life gets in the way sometimes. But I wanted to share with you this bread recipe I’ve been making very often since last March.  It’s very easy and extremely tasty! This bread requires the use of a lot of eggs.  Thankfully, I’m at a point that I can tolerate eggs in baked goods, but not by themselves.  So, this bread may not be for you if you eggs are big no-no for you.  The best part … Continue reading

Grain Free Sandwich Rounds

I have been making these grain free sandwich rounds for quite some time now and figured it is high time I share the recipe! These are so easy and awesome tasting. In fact, they are actually kind of neutral tasting which is what makes them so fabulous! They go with anything! (Yes, they are yellow looking, but one bite and you’ll forget all about the color!) I have made regular “turkey, lettuce and tomato” sandwiches with these sandwich rounds. They are a delish way to make PB&J. Don’t forget burgers…they make a good hamburger bun. And they even hold up … Continue reading

Turkey Burgers Version 2.0

I’m dreaming of warmer temps. And grilling. And picnics. So I decided to have an indoor picnic. With my indoor George Foreman grill. Enter: turkey burgers. These are so easy! And fast! In fact, this has already debuted on the blog….back when I was a newbie blogger. I think this is worth repeating though.  Who doesn’t love a fast and easy meal now and then? You can find the original recipe and article here. That article goes into much more depth. It’s worth a read. Serve these turkey burgers on a bun of choice. Or top with salsa and eat … Continue reading

Want an easy flat bread recipe?  Something without yeast?  How about something that is easy to make?  Freezes well?  Makes a great wrap for sandwiches?  Gluten free and grain free?  Allergy free? It can be done!   Unfortunately for me, I didn’t dream up this most delectable recipe.  But lucky for you, I found it, tested it twice, and am now bringing it to you.  This flat bread doesn’t fall apart or crumble and it tastes great!  It also freezes well and tastes just as great after been frozen for a while. In the recipe you can choose a little … Continue reading

Fast and Easy Black Bean Burger

Want an easy, quick way to make a vegan or vegetarian lunch or supper?  How about a black bean burger?   I never made a black bean burger before this attempt. Truthfully, I was hesitant.  However, I loved every bite of it!   Granted, it doesn’t taste like beef, but it was good.  I was satisfied.  I felt like I did my body something good. If you want to make this sandwich for yourself, you can get the recipe here.  (All I changed was to use gluten free rolled oats in place of instant oats).

BBQ Shredded Pork Sandwiches

How about a sandwich meal?  Simple and not very time consuming at all, the crockpot is your friend for this recipe.  Enter…barbeque shredded pork.    Did you know there is a secret to cooking meat in the crockpot?  Not only should you trim any fat off, you should brown the meat or broil it first.  I have always trimmed off fat, but since browning or broiling the meat, the meals have turned out even that much better.  It only takes about 5 minutes.  I have heard people state they do not care for cooking in the crockpot because they do not … Continue reading

Sloppy Joes With Real Vegetables

Have you seen those commercials on TV?  The ones where a little girl is dressed up as a sandwich (sloppy joe) costume and she is in a school play?  It’s a play about vegetables and she “belongs” in the play because that particular sloppy joe mix has vegetables in it.  Well, I beg to differ, but I highly doubt that can qualify as a serving of vegetables.  Especially when you take into consideration all the sodium and high fructose corn syrup that is most likely in the canned good. I’m just saying.   And let’s not forget that a lot of canned … Continue reading

Fast and Easy Turkey Burger

Do you need a quick weeknight meal?  Something easy to put together and that requires few ingredients?  Today’s recipe is just that.   In fact, it is so easy; one can hardly call it a recipe. Today’s meal idea is made from ground turkey. It does lend a different taste than beef, but it is only slightly healthier than ground beef.  I had always assumed it had less fat than beef, but when I did some research I found out that ground turkey has only slightly less fat than beef.  But one thing I found out that surprised me was that ground … Continue reading
