Go Veggie “Cheese” by Galaxy Nutritional Foods – Product Review

I’m all about saving us dairy free folks some money.  So I spent some of my own to see just how good this Go Veggie “cheese” by Galaxy Nutritional Foods is.  After all, it is priced a bit less than Daiya, so if it is good, I would switch.  Read on to see if I will just do that.   I made a pizza with black beans. The package claims it will melt and stretch.  Well, it melted TOO MUCH!  It melted so much is almost became clear on the pizza.  See?   Not only that, but it was difficult … Continue reading

Trader Joe’s Mango Sorbet

It’s very rare that I purchase dairy free, factory made, frozen treats at the store.  But I made the exception to my rule during my last trip to Trader Joe’s and bought this Mango Sorbet.   This sorbet is creamy, smooth, refreshing and satisfying.   It hit the spot on a hot day; on a busy day with no time to prepare food.  Even if you are not crazy about mango, I bet you would like this dreamy treat!    It cost $4.49 for a smidge more than a quart.  Ingredients are mango, water, cane sugar (not vegan), glucose syrup (from … Continue reading

So Delicious Vanilla Coconut Milk vs. Silk Pure Coconut

We always have a couple containers of vanilla flavored coconut milk in the house.  I usually buy So Delicious Vanilla Coconut Milk, but lately have purchased a few containers of Silk Pure Coconut Vanilla Coconut Milk.  I thought it would be fun to do a comparison.  The information is taken from the containers.   How they are the same:  Both state a serving size is 1 cup, have zero cholesterol, zero grams of protein, 10% of Vitamin A, 0% Vitamin C, 4% iron, and both are non GMO verified.  Both are gluten free, milk protein free and soy free. How … Continue reading

Full Flavor Foods – Review # 2

I am eager to share with you again about Full Flavor Foods.  I first stumbled upon this food company at my local grocery.  After they read my review, they kindly sent me several of their mixes to try.  I was very pleased with every one they sent. First up, I tried the FFF Beef Gravy Mix.  I am not one to make or eat a lot of roasts, so I used this gravy mix in a recipe Full Flavor Foods included in my package.  It was Beef Bordelaise.  Prior to using the gravy in the recipe, I sampled it after … Continue reading

Allergic Solution – A Premium Allergen Free Food Company – Product Review

While surfing the internet, I stumbled upon Allergic Solution, A Premium Allergen Free Food Products Company.  I contacted them and they sent me 4 packages of their products to try.  The opinions below are strictly mine and my family’s.  Before we get to that let’s talk a little about Allergic Solution.  This company creates foods that are high fiber and high in nutrients while having a low glycemic index.  Most prepackaged gluten free, allergy free foods are high in sugar and other “white” flours.  Not so with Allergic Solution.  They are sugar free…so you can add as little or as … Continue reading

Peppermint and Ginger Tummy Drops from Eternal Health and Nutrition

Today I am sharing with you a new and natural way to possibly alleviate stomach upset and more.  I was contacted by the folks over at Eternal Health and Nutrition to try out their gluten free and GMO free ginger and peppermint drops.    Creator of the drops, Dr. Dustin James, who is also author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Digestive Health, wrote a letter to me stating that these Tummy Drops resemble a cough drop, but is “designed to soothe upset tummies.”  He also states that peppermint oil and ginger are some of the best studied natural alternatives … Continue reading

If you read my three part series about grocery shopping you already know that I shop Whole Foods, Trader Joes, regular supermarkets and Aldi.  Yes, Aldi.  This is the store that helps me keeps the grocery bill “lower” due to all the allergy friendly things I need to buy. Well, today I had quite the haul from Aldi and I want to share some of my finds with … Continue reading

Full Flavor Foods, LLC – Gluten and Casein Free Gravy Mix – Product Review

Are you looking for a gluten free powdered gravy mix?  How about one without milk? I found this (gluten and casein free) gravy mix at my local grocery.  You can find it on Amazon here.   I am putting this out here as a resource for you as I know how difficult it is to find milk free or gluten free (or both) mixes. The company that makes this is Full Flavor Foods…it’s hard to tell from the packaging.  They make Beef, Chicken, Pork, and Turkey flavors.  They are all soy free too, with the exception of the beef flavor.  … Continue reading
