Not too long ago I wrote about Larabars. They are so simple. With only three or four ingredients, I thought they would be good to try make my own. Well, I did not have to go far as I just happened to stumble up a recipe for Cherry Pie “Larabars” at Jen’s Natural Kitchen. Other than the tree nuts, these are a great allergy free snack as they are gluten free, egg free, milk free, and soy free.
She uses walnuts, but since I am allergic to walnuts I used pecans. It is my assumption that one could use any nut they are not allergic to and they would probably turn out. Let me tell you….these were absolutely awesome. These are sweet, chewy, yummy and simply delish. I will be making these a lot in the summer months when it is too hot to turn the oven on. Since I only swapped out the walnuts for pecans, and I want to give credit where credit is due I am going to send you over the Jen’s Natural Kitchen for the recipe.
